BRONX TIMES NAMES IVELISSE ROSARIO ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL WOMEN FOR 09'

In this week's edition of the Bronx Times, the Bronx-only publication included its annual release of profiles of the 25 most influential women in the borough. The 2009 edition included none other than Lehman College women's basketball associate head coach and former women's basketball standout Ivelisse Rosario.

In an article written by Kristy Caruso, Rosario's early college days are depicted – and in rapid fashion – it is explained how she arrived at Lehman College and how she became a member of the Lehman College women's basketball team.

Many Lightning fans know that Rosario's arrival began the turnaround of the women's basketball program at Lehman, but what many did not know is that the former Lehman standout was critical in helping decide who would coach the basketball squad – a role that is now filled – and has been for over 11 years – by head coach Eric Harrison.

In the article, Rosario talks about her early Lehman days – including the impact of coach Harrison had on her life just by believing in her abilities. She also talks about how the Lehman campus is like a second home to her – because she not only is a member of the women's basketball coaching staff, but she also serves as the Senior Women's Administrator. The Bronx native is always busy doing something to better help Lehman athletics.

Rosario also makes mention of the people in her life who have pushed her to be the strong minded and hard-working individual that many know her to be. People that have served as inspirations to her range from her aunt to her former teachers.

Rosario's past, present, and future are all discussed in a very in-depth and interesting feature article in this week's Bronx Times. Those interested in acquiring a copy of this week's paper can pick up a copy at any newsstand or candy store located in the following areas of the Bronx: Throgs Neck, East Tremont Avenue, Mars Park, and Williamsbridge Road.
