Bronx, NY - The Lehman College Athletics Department is proud to announce the appointment of Ana Belzunce as men's and women's tennis coach, effectively immediately.

"I'm happy to welcome Coach Belzunce to the Lehman Athletics family." Dr. Martin L. Zwiren, Director of Athletics said in a statement. "I am looking forward to successful days ahead for both of our tennis teams."

She brings a wealth of experience to the Lightning, coaching at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy in Randall's Island for the past two years, and having previously coached with the Tennis Federation of Madrid and with Premier Tennis in Oxford in the United Kingdom.  

Belzunce was a standout player at the University of Maryland, cracking the NCAA Division I Top 100 in singles play and winning an ITA Regional Doubles Championship.   In two seasons with the Terrapins she posted a 41-24 mark at # 2 singles. 

A native of Spain, Belzunce has played # 1 singles for several clubs in Europe including RCP Barcelona (Spain), Neuilly Plaisance Sports and TC de Saint Gaudens (France) and HTC Bad Neuenahr (Germany).
