Attention Lehman Lightning fans! The October 2008 edition of Lehman's athletics newsletter, "Lightning Strikes", is now available!
This month's edition of Lightning Strikes focuses on the formation of a Lehman College soccer club team and its aspirations to one day become a varsity sport at the college. The team was constructed over the summer and has participated in a number of exhibition contests with hopes of joining the CUNYAC a year from now.
October's newsletter also includes a feature on Lehman College women's tennis standout Evauna Neville and how her contributions on and off the court as well as her performance in the classroom has molded her into the model student-athlete. In the article, Neville's willingness to help those in need is chronicled, and she also speaks about what her experiences helping others have meant to her.
October's newsletter also includes a feature on women's volleyball Head Coach Daniel Skilins and how his recruiting efforts have helped the Lightning get off to a fast start in 2008. The article illustrates how the Lehman skipper went about constructing his team and why the team has enjoyed the early season success that it has.
Last but not least, this month's newsletter will feature a short question and answer session with Lehman College's Director of Athletics, Dr. Martin L. Zwiren. Lehman's AD answers questions about the accomplishments of the athletic department in the past, and he also reveals the most gratifying thing about his job.
On the final page of this month's edition of Lightning Strikes, the Lehman College Athletes of the Month for September are revealed.
