Isabela Araujo and
Heaven Figueroa earned weekly honors by the City University of New York Athletic Conference. For the second week in a row, Araujo was named the CUNYAC Women's Rookie of the Week while Figueroa was named Honorable Mention.
Araujo led the Lightning to a 2-1 week with victories over Lancaster Bible and Penn State Berks. The freshman averaged 10.3 points and 3 rebounds per contest last week. The Bronx native was also credited with 2 assists, a block and a steal.
Figueroa averaged 17.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per games in the three games last week. She was also credited with 14 steals, 9 assists and 3 blocks in during those games.
Araujo and Figueroa will both be back in action next Saturday and Sunday at the Governors Challenge hosted by Salisbury (MD) University. Lehman will face the hosts in the opening contest at 1 PM on Saturday and then will play either Kean or Immaculata on Sunday afternoon.
