Bronx, N.Y. – The CUNYAC Cross Country Championships took place on Sunday at Van Cortlandt Park as Evelin Gomez claimed silver medal for Lehman College in the women's 6k race with a time of 25:31.1, while the men's side finished sixth overall in the team standings.
The New York City Rookie Gomez made an impact in her inaugural conference competition as she was the first Lightning since 2019 to finish in the top three at the individual women's race.
Also, at the 6k race, another Lehman rookie Aminata Sissoko took the 15
th spot as she clocked in at 32:22.4. The Lightning ended seventh in the overall team standings.
On the men's side, another rookie Caleb Sejour crossed the finish line in the 8k race in a time of 36:26.2 (28
th place).
