Compliance and Eligibility Information Page

Lehman College competes in Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). As a member institution, its intercollegiate athletics program is governed by NCAA legislation outlined in the Constitution and bylaws, which address core areas such as admissions, financial aid, eligibility, and recruiting (Article 1, Section 1.3.2).
The Lehman College Athletics Compliance Office is committed to fostering a culture of integrity by promoting a positive compliance environment and upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct.
Working in coordination with the Director of Athletics, the Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the College consistently applies and enforces all NCAA rules and regulations. Lehman College has formed an NCAA Compliance Team, whose expressed purpose is to work in conjunction with our athletics personnel who are involved with enforcing NCAA and CUNYAC rules and regulations, and to certify that student-athletes are in compliance with all of the guidelines governing student-athlete issues.

COMPLIANCE MISSION STATEMENT
The Lehman College Athletics Compliance Office is dedicated to upholding the integrity of the College’s intercollegiate athletics program by ensuring full adherence to NCAA Division III, CUNY Athletic Conference and Institutional rules and regulations. We are committed to fostering a culture of compliance, accountability, and ethical conduct through education, monitoring, and collaboration. By supporting student-athletes, coaches, and staff, we strive to promote fair competition, institutional responsibility, and the highest standards of sportsmanship.

LEHMAN COLLEGE ATHLETICS ELIGIBILITY CHECKLIST
Returning and prospective student-athletes seeking eligibility certification must complete the steps below. Student managers must also complete eligibility certification steps 1 and 2.
  • Step 1 - Complete the Athletics Information Form
    • You must use your CUNY Login to access this form.
    • Complete the Student-Athlete attestation for Serious Misconduct (SAASM) form and upload the form onto the Athletics Information Form.
  • Step 2 - Complete SPARC (Sexual & Interpersonal Violence Prevention and Response Course) – this can be found on Brightspace. New Lehman students will be automatically enrolled. Returning students will be enrolled once they submit the Athletics Information Form(Step 1).
  • Step 3 - Medical Eligibility Requirements (for questions email Durval.Morgan@lehman.cuny.edu)
    • SWOL
    • SWAY Concussion Baseline Test
    • Submit Physical Examination (on this form)
    • Submit Sickle Cell trait test results (your first year)- Fact Sheet
  • Step 4 - FINAL STEP: After Roster Selection, the student-athlete will receive an email from noreply@ncaa.org with login credentials to complete the required NCAA Compliance Forms (reference above).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING OUT Division III COMPLIANCE FORMS:
All compliance forms have transitioned to electronic forms.  Each student-athlete will be receiving an email from the NCAA, providing you with a login and password.  These forms must be completed before you compete.  If you have any questions when completing the forms please send your emails to karina.jorge@lehman.cuny.edu. 
 
*If you play multiple sports, you will only have to complete the forms once. 

*Please note that if you are a minor, your parent/guardian will need to sign the Drug Testing Consent Form.  You will have to print/save the form for his/her signature and return it to the Compliance Officer on campus.

NCAA PRINCIPLES OF RULES COMPLIANCE
Under the NCAA Constitution, member institutions are required to adhere to all applicable NCAA rules and regulations. Each institution is also responsible for actively monitoring its athletics program to ensure compliance, as well as identifying and reporting any instances in which those standards are not met.

This webpage is designed to provide a general overview of NCAA rules and regulatory guidelines. Lehman College Athletics relies on your support in adhering to these standards to protect the integrity of the University, the athletics program, and, most importantly, its student-athletes.
