Lehman College is a member of Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). As a member institution, the conduct of the College's intercollegiate athletic program with regard to "basic athletic issues such as admissions, financial aid, eligibility and recruiting" is governed by rules and regulations (called "legislation") set out in the NCAA Constitution and bylaws. The Lehman College Athletics compliance office seeks to carry out the following essential functions in a manner that promotes a positive compliance atmosphere and demonstrates an unwavering commitment to highest standards of ethical behavior.
The Compliance Officer, in coordination with the Director of Athletics, is directly responsible for ensuring that the College is meeting its obligation to apply and enforce these rules.
Lehman College has formed an NCAA Compliance Team, whose expressed purpose is to work in conjunction with our athletics personnel who are involved with enforcing NCAA and CUNYAC rules and regulations, and to certify that student-athletes are in compliance with all of the guidelines governing student-athlete issues.
