The Lehman College men's tennis team (1-3 Overall, 1-2 CUNYAC) dropped a conference match to the Dolphins of the College of Staten Island on Thursday afternoon at the APEX Tennis Courts by a score of 7-2.

The Dolphins took control of the match after doubles play, grabbing a 2-1 lead by winning the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles sets. When play switched over to singles, the Dolphins continued to dominate the afternoon, capturing all five singles sets played. Lehman won the sixth set by default as Staten Island did not have a player to participate in that set. At No. 1 singles, it was Thomas turning back Chang by scores of 6-2 and 6-0. Hamai silenced Lehman's Dean Garcia 6-0 and 6-1 at No. 2 singles. No. 3 singles saw Taranto down Harvey by scores of 6-0 and 6-0. Ambartsumov defeated Carela 6-2 and 6-1 at No. 4 singles, and finally at No. 5 singles, it was Staten Island's Dennis Huang defeating Veras, 6-4 and 7-5. Following the match, head coach Zack Davis gave his thoughts.

“Staten Island has a very strong team,” Davis said. “The effort was there for us, but the Dolphins did a good job of controlling the match and executing. We'll shake this one off and focus on our next match”
