The Lehman men's tennis team is in the win column.
On Monday afternoon, the Lightning completed its suspended match with Brooklyn College, earning a 6-3 victory over the visiting Bulldogs to improve to 1-2 on the season.
Already leading 3-0 due to the Bulldogs having to forfeit the doubles matches – a result of their late arrival for Friday's originally scheduled contest – Lehman captured Nos. 1, 3 and 4 singles to pick up the win.
Victorious Lightning players included No. 1,
Raul Santana, who defeated Anthony Chan 6-2, 6-4; No. 3,
Jahi-Abasi Jabbar, who downed Vesna Tan 6-2, 6-4; and No. 4,
Cesar Andrade, who knocked off Anthony Sideris 6-4, 6-3.
The Bulldogs took No. 2 singles with Matthew Micharlsen upending
Michael Tal in a tough match 6-1, 5-7, 14-12; No. 5 singles with Qing Tan toppling
Marcos Coto-Batres 6-4, 6-3; and No. 6 singles with Deshi Wu outlasting
Ali Saleh 7-5, 6-7 (7-5), 12-10.
Lehman returns to action on Wednsesday when it heads down Broadway for a showdown with City College of New York.
