Men's Tennis Ends Regular Season With Loss To Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Lehman men's tennis team closed out the regular season in disappointing fashion on Saturday afternoon, losing to host Brooklyn College 7-2 to finish at 4-9 overall and 2-5 in conference play.

Lehman was forced to default all three doubles matches and No. 6 singles.

Of the remaining singles matches, the Lightning took No. 2 and No. 3 behind Cesar Andrade and Ben Cirilo.  Andrade took it to his opponent Robin Varughese 6-2, 6-1, while Cirilo was also on top of his game, dropping Cheyne Tribbey 6-2, 6-2.

In other singles action Michael Tal was a straight sets loser to Matthew Micharlsen, 6-4, 6-2; Andres Restrepo was blanked 6-0, 6-0 by Deshi Wu; and Leonardo de Oliveira was toppled by Marvin Gill 6-1, 6-3.

By virtue of its 2-5 record, the Lightning will be seeded No. 6 in the upcoming CUNYAC Championships and will face No. 3 Hunter College.
