QUEENS, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's tennis team dropped a hard fought, 5-4, match to CUNY Athletic Conference rival John Jay College on Thursday night, in a match held at the USTA's National Tennis Center.
The match started with doubled play, where the tandem of freshman Elvis Mejia (New York, N.Y./Brandeis) and classmate Astrit Krasniqi (New York, N.Y./St. Agnes) won at third, 9-7.
Moving to singles action, Mejia won at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-1, and Krasniqi won at sixth, 6-3, 7-5. Sophomore Dan Harelick (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) was victorious at first singles, 6-3, 6-4, giving Lehman its four victories.
Up next, the Lightning (1-6, 0-4 CUNYAC) head to Brooklyn on Saturday to face Brooklyn College, at 12:00 p.m.
