BRONX, N.Y. – Freshman Elvis Mejia's double winning effort was not enough as the Lehman College men's tennis team fell to Sarah Lawrence College, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon in the APEX Tennis Courts.
Mejia (New York, N.Y./Louis D. Brandeis) won at #4 singles, 7-6 and 6-2, while also earning the victory at #3 doubles with senior Yve Jay Modi (Ramat Gan, Israel/Clarkstown South) by a score of 8-2. Sophomore Edwin Diaz (City Island, N.Y./Westside) tallied a victory at #6 singles, 6-2 and 6-2.
The Lightning (1-10) will be back in action on Monday, April 21, for a non-conference match with NYU-Poly at 4:00 p.m. As it is the last match of the regular season, Lehman College will honor the two seniors, Ramon Belliard (New York, N.Y./LaGuardia) and Modi, with a brief ceremony before the start of the contest.
