BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's tennis team earned its second victory in a row by defeating Brooklyn College, 7-2, on the APEX Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Al Joseph Dubouzet (Bronx, N.Y./All Hallows) earned a victory at #3 singles, 6-3 and 6-2, while senior
Socrates Peralta (Santo Domingo, D.R./Morris) won his #4 singles match, 6-1 and 6-3. Sophomore
Elvis Mejia (New York, N.Y./Louis D. Brandeis) and freshman
Victor Alvarez (Marion Technical Institute) won at #5 and #6 singles respectively.
Lehman won all three doubles matches. Freshman
CarloJay Maghirang (Nyack, N.Y./Nyack) and junior
Gene Nakagaki (Scarsdale, N.Y./Eastchester) won at #1 doubles, 8-2, while the team of Dubouzet and Peralta won at #2 doubles, 8-3. Mejia and sophomore
Frankelly Ortiz (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman H.S.) picked up a victory at #3 doubles.
The Lightning will travel to Sarah Lawrence College on Sunday, to battle the Gryphons in a non-conference match, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
