BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's tennis team extended its winning streak to three straight with a 7-2 win at Sarah Lawrence College on Sunday. Lehman has now won four of its last five matches.

The Lightning (4-7) swept all three doubles matches before taking four of the six singles matches.

The first doubles tandem of freshman CarloJay Maghirang (Nyack, N.Y./Nyack) and junior Gene Nakagaki (Scarsdale, N.Y./Eastchester) won tied at 1-1 before winning seven straight games for the 8-1 win. Second doubles saw junior Al Joseph Dubiouzet (Bronx, N.Y./All Hallows) and senior Socrates Peralta (Santo Domingo, D.R./Morris) win the final four games for the 8-4 final. At third doubles, sophomore Frankelly Oritz (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman HS) and sophomore Elvis Mejia (New York, N.Y./Brandeis) rallied from behind to win 9-7.

In singles play, Dubiouzat clinched the match at third singles with a stirring 6-2, 6-4 win. In the first set, he won four of last five games, then in the second, he broke serve to go up 3-2 before winning 6-4.

Lehman has now concluded the regular season, and will enter the CUNY Athletic Conference Championships on Friday, April 24. The CUNYAC has not announced the final seedings for the Championships.
