BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's tennis team dropped a CUNY Athletic Conference match to John Jay, 9-0, on the APEX Tennis Courts on Thursday afternoon.

Sophomore Elvis Mejia (New York, N.Y./Louis D. Brandeis) lost a tight back-and-forth #6 singles match, in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (8-6). Junior Gene Nakagaki (Scarsdale, N.Y./Eastchester) had a competitive #2 singles match, but fell 6-4 and 6-3.

The Lightning will be back in action on Saturday, for a non-conference match against St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn, at the USTA National Tennis Center beginning at 4:00 p.m.
