Bronx, N.Y. -- The Lehman College women's basketball celebrated Homecoming with an all-around effort leading to a wire-to-wire victory over CUNYAC foe John Jay, 87-66, Saturday afternoon at the APEX Center.

The Lightning improve to 12-8 overall and 10-2 overall in the CUNYAC, and have won nine of their last 10 matchups. They are now a half-game back from first-place Staten Island in the conference.

Amely Del Rosario led five players in double figures, scoring 19 points along with five assists, four steals and six rebounds.
Krystal Pearson poured in 18 points with five boards, while
Marika Gordon posted a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds) in the victory.

Lisa Fields tallied 17 points, including two three-pointers with four assists, while
Lynda Fields dished off four assists of her own to go with 13 points.

For the Bloodhounds, Uju Nwaigwe scored a game-high 27 points with 10 boards for a double-double while Cassandra Taylor added 22 points and nine rebounds i a losing effort.

The team connected on 45.2% from the field (38-for-84), and dished out 17 assists on the win. They dominated inside with 56 points in the paint, and scored 26 fast break points. Defensively, they forced 30 John Jay turnovers and would capitalize with 38 points off those mishaps.
