The Lehman College men's tennis team earned its third victory of the season on the road over John Jay [2-6:1-3] 8-1. With the win, men's tennis reaches .500 on the season [3-3, 2-2].
All three Lightning doubles teams came out with a victory, sweeping the Bloodhounds in doubles competition. The duo of
Michael Forte and
Jeffrey Lecitona set the tone with an 8-2 victory in one doubles.
Richard Williams and
Brian Persuad won 8-4 at second doubles.
Won Sik Park and
Elvis Mejia finished off the sweep, 8-2 in third doubles.
The Lightning won the first two singles matches as Forte and Williams won at first and second singles 6-2, 6-3 and 6-2, 6-1 respectively. The Bloodhounds got their lone victory in third singles, but Lehman's Park, Chris Velez, and Persuad closed out the match with victories in fourth, fifth, and sixth singles respectively.
The Lightning return to action Thursday to host the Hunter College Hawks at 10 AM.
