Bronx, N.Y. -- The No. 4 Lehman College men's tennis team continued their winning ways as they entered the postseason, defeating No. 5 seed Brooklyn College 5-1 in the CUNYAC quarterfinals at the APEX Tennis Courts Friday afternoon.
The Lightning have now won three straight and five of their last six matches, and now advance to the conference semifinals to take on top-seeded Baruch College.
In singles play, Lehman swept all three matches as
Jeffrey Lecitona (6-0, 6-4) along with
Won Sik Park (6-0, 6-3) and
Brian Persuad (6-3, 6-1) emerged victorious. They took two doubles matches as well with the team of Park and
Richard Williams earning an 8-1 win in No. 2 play, while Persuad and Chris Velez took the No. 3 match 8-2.
The team's next match will be Sunday afternoon in the conference semis taking place at the College of Staten Island against #1 Baruch.
