Bronx, N.Y. – A hat-trick from sophomore midfielder Melanie Siranaula led Lehman College women's soccer team to a 6-0 home victory over conference rival York College at South Field on Saturday.  The Lightning improve to 4-1-1, 2-0 CUNYAC, while the Cardinals drop to 0-8-1, 0-2 in conference play.

Sophomore forward Emily Herrera got Lehman's offense going with a tally in sixth minute off an assist from freshman defender Micaela Canapa.  Then six minutes later Siranaula notched her first of three goals on the game with a shot that went off the hands of York's goalkeeper Stephanie Gutierrez.

Senior midfielder Daisy Gomez made it 4-0 for the Lightning when she scored her fourth goal of the season in the 19^th minute-mark.

After Siranaula had her second tally in 55^th minute, senior midfielder Daniela Castro scored her first goal of the season after grabbing a loose ball in 74^th minute.
Siranaula closed out the scoring for Lehman with her third goal of the match with eight minutes remaining off an assist from Herrera.

The Lightning outshot the Cardinals 23-1 as sophomore goalkeeper Rebecca Gritz didn't need to make a save to earn her third shutout of season.

Lehman hits the road next Wednesday for another CUNYAC match-up at 6 pm against CCNY at Purchase, N.Y.
