Women’s Soccer Fall To CCNY In CUNYAC Semis

Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's soccer team fell 3-1 to visiting CCNY in the CUNYAC Championship Semifinals held at Fordham University's Jack Coffey Field on Saturday.

The Beavers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 16 minutes of the encounter with goals from midfielders Cassidy Canberg (9th) and Tatiana Zuluaga (16th).

The Lightning got on the board in the 43rd minute-mark with a tally from midfielder Melanie Huerta which came off a free kick taken by defender Micaela Canapa.

Lehman looked for the equalizer for most of the second half, however, with 11 minutes remaining, a CCNY counterattack resulted in Canberg scoring her second of the game.

Gritz had seven saves in goal for the Lightning, while Beavers netminder Catherine Langkamp had two.

CCNY, which improve to 7-8 record, will now advance to take on John Jay College in CUNYAC Championship Final, while Lehman concludes its campaign with a 4-11 mark.
