Box Score Flushing, N.Y. - The Lehman men's tennis team dropped their conference opener 8-1 to John Jay (1-1:1-0) in a match played at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadow, NY.
The lone Lightning (0-3:0-1) win came in the second singles slot as
Miguel Haboosh defeated Michael Barkagan 6-3, 5-7 (10-6).
The Bloodhounds took all three doubles matches to begin the match. At first doubles, Lehman's
Michael Forte and
Ioannis Vasos fell 8-2. In the second spot, Haboosh teamed with
Michael Herrera and came out on the short end of an 8-2 decision. In the third hole
Chris Mulholland and
Anton Kyrylenko fell at love.
In singles play, #1 Forte was a tough luck loser 7-6, 6-2. In the third and fifth spot Vasos and Kyrylenko lost by the identical score of 6-1, 6-2. Playing fourth singles, Mulholland lost 6-1, 6-2.
William Marin-Vidals, playing sixth singles lost at love.
The Lightning return to action on Tuesday after to face the College of New Rochelle. Game time is scheduled for 3:30 PM on the APEX Courts.
