Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's tennis team hit two birds with one ball as it posted its first victory of the season against visiting York College-NY, 7-2, at The APEX courts on Saturday and at the same time secured a berth to the CUNYAC Postseason.
The Lightning's (1-8; 1-4 CUNYAC) victory also ended a 10-game losing streak, while the Cardinals (0-8; 0-5 CUNYAC) dropped their eighth consecutive match this season.
After winning #2 and #3 doubles via default due to the late arrival of the visitors to the match, Lehman's #1 doubles of
Chris Mulholland and
Ioannis Vasos defeated Adrian Tam and Tanir Hossain of York, 8-4.
The Lightning's
Miguel Haboosh won his #2 singles encounter, 6-3, 6-3, against Hossain, while
Arman Hossain was victorious in his #4 singles match over Cardinals' Luis Portorreal, 6-3, 6-2.
Anton Kyrylenko claimed his #5 singles encounter, 6-0, 6-0, against Kevin Campbell of York, while
