Bronx, N.Y. – The three-game losing streak ended for the Lehman College softball team on Saturday as it swept a CUNYAC twin-bill from visiting Baruch College at South Field. The Lightning improve to 6-12 record and 2-0 in CUNYAC, while the Bearcats fall to a 2-8 mark and 2-4 in conference play.
Diamond Villegas went perfect from the plate, 4-for-4, in the opener for Lehman, scoring three times, while driving in two runs in the 6-1 victory. Villegas also pitched a complete game allowing no earn runs while striking out nine batters for the win.
In the nightcap, Villegas again scored three times and had two RBI in the Lightning's 8-3 win.
Tiffany Adames pitched four innings in relief of Villegas and struck out four for the victory.
Lehman continues its home stand on Tuesday when it welcomes University of Valley Forge in a non-conference doubleheader at South Field starting a 4 pm.
