Bronx, N.Y. –  Two goals each from midfielder Joanna Coleman & defender Esmeralda Santos Valencia paced the hosts Lehman College women's soccer team to a 9-0 victory against Medgar Evers College at South Field on Saturday afternoon.  The Lightning improve to a 2-6 record and 1-2 in CUNYAC play, while the Cougars fall to 0-3 mark and 0-3 in conference play.

Valencia opened the scoring with consecutive tallies in the seventh and 12th minutes, respectively.  Forward Ramatoulaye Diallo notched a goal six minutes later for the Lightning, while midfielder Lexxis Irizarry got on the scoresheet at the 26th minute-mark.

Coleman had her first of two goals in the 29th minute, while midfielder Jackie Gonzalez posted a tally in the 57th minute of the second half.

After defender Miriam Bernal made it 6-0 for Lehman in the 59th minute, Coleman had her second tally of the game seven minutes later.

Defender Nancy Ordaz Tepanecatl closed out the scoring at the 75th minute-mark as the Lightning cruised to the victory.  Goalkeeper Josefina Flores also did not need to make a save to post her first collegiate shutout.

Lehman returns to action next Saturday (October 22nd) when it welcomes Brooklyn College in a CUNYAC encounter at South Field with kickoff set for noon.
