Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 heartbreaker to visiting John Jay College in the opening round of CUNYAC Championship on Thursday at The APEX courts.  

The match was determined in the doubles as John Jay took two of the three encounters.  The duo of Jimmy Evans/Ray Rodriguez were victorious for Lehman in #3 doubles with a 8-3 result.

Richie Margaribi triumphed for the Lightning in #3 singles action 7-6, 2-6, 7-4, while Rodriguez won his #5 singles match-up 6-3, 6-2.  Chris Mata was also victorious in #6 singles, 8-5.

The Lightning concludes the season with a 2-9 overall record, while the Bloodhounds go to a 3-8 mark and advance to the CUNYAC Championship Semifinals against Baruch College on Sunday.
