Clarks Summit, Pa. – After the twin-bill at Clarks Summit University over the weekend was postponed due to weather, the Lehman College softball team officially commenced its 2024 campaign against the same hosts on Monday losing the first encounter 14-1 and the second game finished tied at 6-6. The Lightning go to a 0-1-1 overall record, while the Defenders improved to a 1-0-1 mark.
In the opener, Lehman took lead in the top of the first when infielder
Yudelis Pena scored off an error by the home side, however Clarks Summit notched three runs in the bottom of the inning and the added 10 more in the second and one in the fourth for the victory. Along with Pena, outfielders

Patria Sanchez all had hits for the Lightning.
Lehman had a 6-3 lead after four innings in the nightcap, however the home side scored three times in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game. After neither side scored in the sixth inning the encounter was officially called off by the umpires because of darkness. Infielder
Patria Sanchez went three-for-three with two runs scored, two RBI for the Lightning, while Perez was two-for three from the plate with a run scored and RBI.
Lehman returns to action next Tuesday (March 12th) when it takes on the hosts Yeshiva University in a non-conference twin-bill at Fordham University with first pitch set for 5 pm ET.
