The Lehman College cruised to an opening round victory over Penn State Berks at the Renie Amoss Classic hosted by Goucher College in Baltimore, MD. Lehman prevailed 86-51.
With the game tied at 4-4, the Lightning went on a 12-2 run and never looked back. Lehman ended the first quarter with a 30-12 lead. They extended their lead winning the second quarter 29-15 and going into the locker room at halftime up 59-27. Lehman extended the lead, dominating the third quarter out-scoring the Lions 23-2 to put the game out of reach.
Five players scored double figures on the night with freshman Isabela Araujo leading the way with 19 points. Heaven Figueroa notched 17 points while Nelson Asamoah added 15. Sage Fanelli and Emily Kennedy chipped in 13 and 10 points respectively.
The Lightning improve to 2-2 overall and will face Lancaster Bible on Saturday afternoon in their final game of the Renie Amoss Classic. Tip-off is slated for 2 PM. Fans unable to make the trip to Baltimore can follow all the action on line via live stats and live stream.
