Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's tennis team posted its first victory of the season as it defeated visiting York College-NY, 8-1, in a CUNYAC match, at The APEX courts on Thursday.  The Lightning go to a 1-5 overall record and 1-1 in conference play, while the Cardinals dropped to an 0-4 mark and 0-1 in CUNYAC action.

After winning all three doubles encounters, Lehman won five of the six singles matches over York-NY.

Highlights included: Richie Magaribi won his #1-singles encounter for the Lightning 6-0, 7-6 over Cardinals' Abdulai Firdaus, while Taishawn Brownlee triumphed in #2-singles for Lehman over Shady Kalil, 6-0, 7-5.

Juan Rodriguez needed to go to extra time for Lightning in #4-singles as he topped Cardinals' Dylan Juela, 7-5, 1-6, 6-3, while Ian Lanter was victorious in #5-singles, 7-5, 6-1, against Michael Martey.

Lehman will be back in action on Tuesday (April 8th) when it hosts John Jay College, in a CUNYAC match-up, at The APEX courts with doubles action starting at 3:30 pm ET.
