New York, N.Y. – Guard Heaven Figueroa was a single rebound, assist and steal (nine each) shy of a possible "quadruple-double" as she notched 21 points to lead the Lehman College women's basketball team to a 75-48 victory against hosts CCNY, in a CUNYAC encounter, at the Nat Holman Gym on Friday evening. The Lightning improved to an 8-6 overall record and 3-1 in CUNYAC action, while the Beavers dropped to a 3-9 mark and 1-3 in conference play.
After trailing by three points (14-11) at the end of the first period, Lehman went on a 15 to 6 run in the second quarter to 26-20 lead at the intermission and then never looked back as it easily outscored CCNY in the 49 to 28 in the next two periods for its ninth consecutive head-to-head victory.
Guard Isabela Araujo scored 15 points for the Lightning with six rebounds and assists, while Musharafa Muniru added 12 points and six boards.
Lehman looks to conclude its road-swing with its third consecutive victory as it travels to Virginia takes on the hosts Christopher Newport University, in a non-conference encounter, on Sunday (January 11th) at 2 pm ET.
