Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's soccer team squandered a second half lead to drop a CUNYAC encounter, 3-1, to visiting Brooklyn College at South Field on Wednesday evening. With the loss, the Lightning move to a 3-8 overall record (1-2 CUNYAC), while the Bulldogs improve to 3-7-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
After a scoreless first half, midfielder
Emily Huerta broke the deadlock for Lehman, notching her seventh goal of the season in the 57th minute.
The Lightning held the lead for the next nine minutes before things fell apart defensively. The Bulldogs exploded for three unanswered goals in a six-minute span, courtesy of forwards Krista Strader (66'), Gianna DiPronio (68'), and Scarlett Davis (72').
Huerta had back-to-back chances to pull one back with two minutes remaining in the match, but both shots were saved by Brooklyn goalkeeper April Hartje.
Lehman continues its homestand at South Field on Saturday, October 24th, taking on CCNY in another CUNYAC match-up. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
