Union, N.J. – The Lehman College softball team dropped a CUNYAC twin-bill (13-0, 9-1) to hosts John Jay College on Friday at the Cougar Softball Field. The Lightning go to a 1-17 overall record and 0-6 in conference play, while the Bloodhounds improved to an 11-20 mark and 4-2 on CUNYAC action.
After going hitless in the first game, Lehman jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the nightcap. However, John Jay scored nine runs in the next five innings for the doubleheader sweep. Shortstop
Patty Sanchez scored the only run for the Lightning, while infielder
Nicolle Swierczek drove her in and
Sky Rodriguez was two-for-three at bat.
Lehman will be back in action next Friday (April 24th) when it travels to take on Baruch College in a CUNYAC doubleheader in Staten Island with first pitch set for 3:30 pm ET.
