Game Rules:
1. To determine which teams gets the ball first, the team captains will meet with the referee, with the captain of the team with the weaker record calling heads or tails in the air.
2. Each game played will be 30 minutes in length. Basket scored equal two or three points. The game cannot end in a tie. If the game is tied at the end of regulation, an additional two minute overtime period will be played. Should the teams still be tied after the extra session, there will continue to be extra two-minute sessions until the game is decided.
3. After 15 minutes, there will be a five minute halftime. From there, the game official will be responsible for letting participants know when there are 10 minutes left, 5 minutes left, 2 minutes left, and 1 minute left. Once the clock is down to a minute, the official is to count down the final 60 seconds.
4. After a team scores a basket, the opposition then has possession. There is no shot-clock, but teams have the option of committing intentional fouls inside the game’s final five minutes in an attempt to stop the opposition from milking the clock. An intentional foul sends a player to the line for one free throw, as that player will have 15 seconds to shoot his free throw or the opposing team will automatically be awarded possession. Following the free throw, the opposition then gets possession.
5. Each team must arrive at the scheduled time. Teams are given a 20 minute grace period. Should a team show up more than 20 minutes late, that team will be forced to forfeit that particular game.
6. Each team is permitted two two-minute timeouts per game. Any additional stoppages of play that are not injury-related could result in a “Delay of game” warning at the discretion of the referee.
7. Each time there is a foul called, the fouled player will go to the free throw line to shoot one free-throw. Inside the final two minutes of either half, should a player be fouled, he/she shall go to the line for a 1-and-1 opportunity.
If the fouled player made the basket, and there is a foul called, the basket counts and he/she goes to the line for one free-throw. A flagrant foul results in two free throws and two flagrant fouls in one game by the same player results in an automatic ejection from that particular contest.
8. In a situation where players are tied up with the basketball, possession will go to the team that scored the last basket.
