Churchill Jackson - Assistant Coach - Second Season

Assistant Coach Churchill Jackson comes to Lehman College in an attempt to help coach Andre' revamp the varsity soccer program on campus. 

Jackson attended Mount Ida College in Massachusetts on a soccer scholarship where he played center-forward and helped his team win the New England championship. He then went on to play with FC 20 in Europe and the Coca-Cola Cup in Holland.

A vital asset who will help with the development of the players, Jackson's coaching experience saw him coach youth soccer clubs for boys and girls ages seven to 16. In doing so, he tought youngsters basic soccer skills in order to mold them into better players. Jackson also has a B License National Diploma with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America which he received at Penn State University.

Now at Lehman College, Jackson is looking forward to using all of the experience he gained as a player and a coach and applying it to a program with a big vision for the future.

Gary Gonzalez - Assistant Coach - First Season

Assistant coach Gary Gonzalez was with Ramapo College’s coaching staff from 2007-2008. He helped the women’s team win their first winning season in 2007.  Under his command, the starting goalkeeper recorded a school record of 8 shutouts. 

In 1990, he received a full scholarship to play Division I soccer at Long Island University in Brooklyn. Coach Gonzalez started in front of the net from 1990-1993, and for his efforts in ‘93 he was named to the North East Conference All-Tournament Team. He was also named Most Valuable Player for L.I.U.’s game against the Colombian National Team (South America) in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1993.  In 1992, he played for the national Team of Puerto Rico for the 1994 World Cup pre-qualifications against the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.  

Coach Gonzalez’s career moved into the international scope playing with Barcelona SC (1st Division) out of Ecuador in 1991. Gonzalez spent time training under Brazil’s 1966 World Cup goalkeeper, Manga. He played in Ecuador’s famous Derby with Barcelona S.C., and was named Most Valuable Player for his efforts against Emelec S.C. in Guayaquil, Ecuador. In 1993, Coach Gonzalez played with Liga de Portoviejo (1st Division) winning MVP honors in the Copa del Mar tournament held in Manta, Ecuador, and spent time training with Liga de Quito and Filanbanco.

Coach Gonzalez’s career continued on the professional ranks where he saw time on the North Jersey Imperials of the United States Interregional Soccer League from 1994-1996. With the Imperials he won the North East Division in 1996 clinching the Sizzlin Six Finals in South Carolina.  In 1998, he played for the Brooklyn Knights of the United Soccer League, and in 1999 he played with the semi-pro team Bronx Rockers (which played against Jamaica’s Seba United and Trinidad and Tobago’s Defence Force).

Coach Gonzalez graduated from Long Island University in 1995 with a degree in early education and continued his education at Mercy College where he received a master’s degree in special education in 2004.
He currently works as a special education teacher at C.S. 102 in the Bronx and a United Federation of Teachers (UFT) Chapter Leader. He resides in Bronx with his wife, Vicky, their two daughters, Victoria and Kasanndra, and their dogs, Max and Sebastian.
