At the start of each semester, students will communicate with their professor to review potential absences in the course. Before doing so, each athlete should review the course syllabus to check the attendance policy and determine how many classes, assignments, quizzes, or exams they may miss. Note that this does not apply to team practices, over which classes take priority. When reaching out, be sure to CC the coach and the FAR, Dr. Brad Schoenfeld (brad.schoenfeld@lehman.cuny.edu).
Receiving an excused absence does not mean students are excused from the material they've missed. If a professor feels the number of classes a student will miss adversely affects academic performance, the student will not be permitted to participate in the game.
NOTE for students taking a Chemistry lab course: The Department of Chemistry is a certified program, and lab courses do not allow more than 2 absences under any circumstance. If you are enrolled in a Chem lab, please plan accordingly - exceeding 2 absences will result in not passing the course, regardless of the reason for absence.
