"Erin Van Nostrand brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position and to our athletics department. Her experience in coaching, athletics administration and compliance not to mention her outstanding record as an NCAA National Championship winning coach will be an asset to our athletics department," Dr. Martin L. Zwiren, Director of Athletics said in a statement. "I am confident our department, coaching staff and our student-athletes will benefit from Erin's experience and knowledge that she gained coaching at the National level."

Van Nostrand was a highly successful head softball coach at Pacific Lutheran University where she guided the Lutes to the 2012 NCAA Division III National Championship.  She amassed over 100 wins in five years at the Tacoma, WA institution.  In 2012 Van Nostrand was named NCAA National Softball Coach of the Year.

A Keene State graduate, she began her career as a Physical Education teacher at Freeport High School.  After five years at the Long Island High School she moved on to Pine Manor College where she was Head Softball Coach and Sports Information Director.  She concluded her tenure at the Chestnut Hill (Mass.) school taking the program to record heights.  Her teams eclipsed the 20 win mark each of her four seasons.  The 2008 squad set a school record for wins (31).
 
"I'm extremely grateful to Dr. Zwiren and the Lehman College administration for this opportunity," commented Van Nostrand.  "I am looking forward to getting to know the student-athletes and working with the staff."

Van Nostrand will oversee NCAA & CUNYAC compliance for all 18 varsity sports, monitor academic progress of our student-athletes, supervise all home events, oversee Title IX, sexual harassment, anti-hazing programs, and serve as staff advisor to Lehman's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
