BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team dropped a 64-45 decision to Purchase College on Saturday afternoon. The guest Panthers used a 16-0 run late in the first half to break the game open.

Purchase (5-6) led by as many as 25 points in the second half. But the Lightning (1-9) managed to claw their way back into the game late, cutting the lead to just ten points, at 55-45, with just 2:32 remaining.

On the afternoon, freshman Jennifer Navarro (Jamaica, N.Y./Grover Cleveland) led Lehman with 21 points. Sophomore Shalaya Nieves (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) added 11 points and as many rebounds.

The Lightning take a brief hiatus before travelling to face Brooklyn College on January 5, 2013.
