Women's Volleyball Eases Past Cooper Union 3-0

BRONX, N.Y. - The Lehman College volleyball squad put the pieces together in a big way today, sweeping Cooper Union, 25-11, 25-14, 25-9. Lehman is now 4-5 on the season, having won four of its last six contests after a slow start.

Service played a major role in the victory, as the Lightning had more aces (22) than kills (19). Seven different players served up aces, led by sophomore Jo-Marie Aquino (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) and freshman Imani Dubois (Bronx, N.Y./JP Taravella), who had five apiece. Dubois added a team-high ten assists, while sophomore Cari English (Yonkers, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) led the Lightning with six kills, hitting .556.

Lehman has a few days of rest before taking the court again on Thursday, September 20, travelling to play SUNY Purchase at 7:00 p.m.
