WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Lehman College women's basketball team will be in action this coming weekend, December 6 and 7, at the Gallaudet University Holiday Tournament, held in our nation's capital. The Lightning will face the host Bison on Friday afternoon in a matinee at 2:00 p.m., then either Trinity (D.C.) University or Valley Forge Christian Christian on Saturday afternoon.
This is the second tournament of the season for Lehman, who earlier won the consolation game of the Hilton Garden Inn Tournament, hosted by Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Penn.
This weekend, all four games of the tournament will be available live via streaming video, free of charge. Also, you can catch all of the statistics via live stats as well.
The Lightning have won three of its last four games, building a 4-2 record in the process. The high-powered offense averages 79.0 points per game, outscoring opponents by 15.7 points per game.
Through six games, Lehman is led by freshman Amely Del Rosario (Bronx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy), who was named the CUNY Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday. Del Rosario averages 19.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. The point guard also leads the team with 28 assists and 33 steals.
Providing a strong one-two punch is sophomore Amani Lightbourne (Elmsford, N.Y./Alexander Hamilton), who contributes 18.5 points and a team-high 10.5 rebounds per game.
