Cari English (Yonkers, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) led the way for the Lightning (10-10) with 13 kills and two solo blocks. Freshman defensive specialist
Lizette Medina (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) anchored the defense with a match-high 19 digs. Freshman outside hitter
Monique Young (Bronx, N.Y./Harry S. Truman) tallied two kills and eight digs, while classmate
Lindsay Pantaleon (New York, N.Y./George Washington) produced three service aces.
Senior outside hitter
Julia Mercado (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) and junior setter
Imani Dubois (West Palm Beach, Fla./J.P. Taravella) each had three kills. Sophomore defensive specialist
Jona Kerluku (Ozone Park, N.Y./CTEA) tallied a kill and a service ace, while freshman defensive specialist
Chaochi Lee (Queens, N.Y./Flushing) added a service ace of her own.
The Lightning will be back in action on Saturday, October 18, for a non-conference contest with Manhattanville in the APEX Main Gym. The match is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.
