Box Score 2 DANBURY, Conn. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of out-of-region matches on Saturday, falling to Western Connecticut and Plymouth (N.H.) State by identical 3-0 scores. Both matches were played at WCSU.
In the opener for the Lightning (12-13 overall), Plymouth State (13-18 overall) swept Lehman with set scores of 25-5, 25-16, 25-21. Senior outside hitter
Julia Mercado (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) had nine kills, junior setter
Imani Dubois (West Palm Beach, Fla./J.P. Taravella) had 17 assists, and freshman defensive specialist
Lizette Medina (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) had 11 digs.
In the nightcap, the host Colonials (22-10 overall) beat Lehman 25-7, 25-10, and 25-12. Mercado and freshman hitter
Lindsay Pantaleon (New York, N.Y./George Washington) each had three kills, Dubois had seven assists and 13 digs, and Mercado led with 14 digs.
The Lightning have now concluded the regular season, and will be the #3 seed in the upcoming CUNY Athletic Conference Championships. The Lightning will host #6 Staten Island on Tuesday, November 4, at 7:00 p.m. in the Quarterfinal Round.
