Basketball Doubleheader at Baruch on Thursday in the Battle of Lexington

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The men's and women's basketball teams will be in action on Thursday night, travelling into Manhattan for the Battle of Lexington, at Baruch College. The women start the fun at 5:30 p.m., with the men to follow at 8:00 p.m. Both games will be played in the ARC Arena. For directions, go here.

Both games tonight are of vital importance for Lehman, in terms of the CUNYAC standings. Heading into tonight, the women are in fifth place, just one game out of fourth, while the men are in sixth place, a game and a half behind Baruch, who is in third place. Only the top four teams in the final standings will host in the semifinals of the CUNYAC Championships.

For the women, revenge is front and center, as Lehman looks to avenge an early season loss to Baruch. In that game, Amely Del Rosario (Broinx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) led the team in scoring with 20 points, while Amani Lightbourne (Elmsford, N.Y./Alexander Hamilton) chipped in with 12 points.

The men, meanwhile, defeated Baruch back on January 15, 78-71. Junior Jonathan Greenfield (Hartford, Conn./Windsor) earned the John Conboy Memorial MVP Award as he made several key shots down the stretch. Tonight, he looks to once again lead the Lightning to victory. Sophomore Jerrome Jones (Bronx, N.Y./Mt. Vernon) added 22 points and 11 rebounds.
