Box Score BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's soccer team knocked off the College of Staten Island, 5-1, in a key CUNY Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon. The match was played on the South Field. This is the first win against CSI in program history. The Lightning are now 6-1 overall, and 2-0 in CUNYAC play. Those two records are the best starts in team history.

The Lightning were led by sophomore midfielder
Lillian Barreto (Bronx, N.Y./Harry S. Truman), who scored two goals. Freshman midfielder
Chelsey Harris (Bronx, N.Y./Cayon) produced a goal and an assist.
Lehman's first goal came in the 17
th minute, as a shot by senior forward
Juliana Generoso (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) deflected off the goalkeeper and right to Barreto, who drilled the ball into the net to put the home team up, 1-0.
Exactly three minutes later, sophomore midfielder
Gredia Sanchez-Espejel (Yonkers, N.Y./Yonkers) launched a rocket of a shot from 20-yards out that went off the crossbar and into the back of the net, to put Lehman up by a pair of goals. The Dolphins (5-2, 1-1 CUNYAC) were able to cut the deficit in half going into the intermission.
Just over three minutes into the second half, Barreto once again gained a rebound off a shot by Generoso, and kicked the ball into the back of the net, to put the Lightning back up by two goals. In the 68

Pamela Sanchez-Espejel (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders) took a feed from Harris and shot the ball past the Dolphins' goalkeeper to extend Lehman's lead to 4-1. In the 81
st minute, Harris netted Lehman's fifth goal of the game by taking a feed from
Gredia Sanchez-Espejel and poking the ball into the cage. Lehman went on to win, 5-1.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Stephanie Gonzalez (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders) made eight saves for Lehman. The Dolphins had a narrow edge in shots, 19-18, but the Lightning had the advantage in shots on goal, 14-9.
Lehman will travel to Maritime College to battle the Privateers, in a non-conference contest, on Tuesday. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
