Box Score WAYNE, N.J. - The Lehman College women's volleyball team suffered its first loss of the year, to William Paterson, in straight sets. Set scores were 25-14, 25-5, and 25-9.
Senior outside hitter
Jo-Marie Aquino (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) led the way for Lehman (1-1) with eight kills and had just as many digs. Sophomore outside hitter
Lindsay Pantaleon (New York, N.Y./George Washington) produced eight digs of her own and added two service aces. Senior setter
Imani Dubois (West Palm Beach, Fla./J.P. Taravella) recorded 11 assists and six digs.
After dropping the first two sets, the Lightning got off to a strong start in the third, as Pantaleon produced back-to-back service aces to help Lehman jump out to a 5-0 lead. However, the Pioneers were able to swing momentum back their way by going on a 25-4 run to clinch the set and the match.
The Lightning will travel up to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., this Saturday, for the Vassar Invitational. Lehman will battle the University of New England at 1:00 p.m., then take on host Vassar at 3:00 p.m.
