First Place on the Line When Lightning Travel to Brooklyn Tonight

Bronx, NY - The Lehman men and women can take a share of the conference lead tonight as they take the court on the Brooklyn College campus.

The women tip at 5:00 pm and the Lightning have revenge on their mind.  Earlier this season Lehman squandered a 16 lead at home and fell to the Bulldogs 54-45.  In that game Amely Del Rosario and Jennifer Navarro combined for 34 of Lehman's 45 points.    Since then the Lightning have added another weapon to their arsenal as Karrin Walker rejoined the squad after missing the first half of the season.  In her eight games with the team, Walker has averaged 14.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per contest.  She has posted double doubles in all but two games.  Lehman enters the contest with a mark of 12-6 overall and 7-2 in conference play.

The Bulldogs stand at 13-5 overall and 9-1 in CUNYAC.   Oliva Colbert is the only Brooklyn player averaging double figures.  She is scoring at the rate of 14.8 points per game.  Brooklyn has been the stingiest women's team in the conference.  The Bulldogs are only allowing 53.3 points per game.   The Lightning average more than 71 points per contest; something will have to give.

Live stats and video streaming are not available but you can follow along on-line via Brooklyn College radio.

The men's match is equally enticing with the Lightning and Bulldogs sitting atop the conference standings.  Brooklyn enters the game with an 8-2 mark in conference play and 15-3 overall while the Lighting also stand at 8-2 in CUNYAC and have an overall record of 14-5.

Earlier this season the Lightning defeated the Bulldogs 80-77 in the APEX.  In that game, Olando Minott paced the Lehman with 21 and nine rebounds.  Chaun Miller added 14 points and nine rebounds.  The Lightning did have a 23 point lead and almost let it all slip away.

If the contest plays out like the first meeting, the Bulldogs will have a huge advantage inside.  Brooklyn was able to out-rebound the Lehman 58-35 including an impressive 24 offensive rebounds.  They also scored 48 of their points in the paint.

Sarah Sommer of D3Hoops.com also previewed the game.

Brooklyn College radio, WBCR, will carry both games on the internet.
