Box Score Riverdale, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's soccer team got ahead with an early lead, but could not answer a second-half scoring run as they dropped to the College of Mt. Saint Vincent, 4-1, Wednesday night in Riverdale.
Chelsey Harris recorded her team-leading fifth goal for the Lightning (4-5-1), while
Gredia Sanchez-Espejel tallied an assist in a losing effort. Goalkeeper
Linda Resto collected double digits in net, stopping 10 shots on goal.
For the Dolphins (5-4), Julia McGowan scored two goals including what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the second half. Kelly Gibison added two assists, while Erin Daily and Joyce Pagliuca netted a goal each.
Lehman would break the scoreless tie at 16:25 when Harris headed in a free kick from G. Sanchez to put them up 1-0. Less than 20 seconds later, Dailey fired in a shot from 18' out to even the score and would remain even at 1 at halftime.
The Dolphins would push ahead as McGowan tallied the first of two goals at 51:43. At 68:07, Pagliuca would head in a corner kick by Gibison to go up 3-1. McGowan's second goal at 71:07, her 11th of the season, capped off the scoring.
