Box Score Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team could not fight all the way back after a 21-point deficit as they dropped a CUNYAC matchup to the College of Staten Island, 85-75, Friday night at the APEX Center.
The Lightning (3-4, 2-2 CUNYAC) were led offensively by
Amely Del Rosario who poured in a game-high 27 points along with four rebounds and four blocks.
Lynda Fields scored 26 points with three assists, while
Krystal Pearson posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds in a losing effort.
Staten Island (6-2, 4-0 CUNYAC) remain undefeated in the conference thanks to Christina Pasaturo. She led four players in double figures with 24 points to go with 11 rebounds and seven assists. Samantha Flecker chipped in with 20 points, while Angelique Price and Nihada Bracic tallied 15 points apiece.
The Dolphins were proficient from beyond the arc, connecting on 12 threes including nine in the first half with a .500 clip. They also controlled the boards, earning a 57-49 edge while Lehman had 40 points in the paint and 18 fast break points.
Lehman will return to action in a few weeks, when they travel to Miami for the Hoop MIA Holiday Tournament. They will face FDU-Florham on December 20th at 2:00 p.m. and will take on Eastern University the 21st.
