Lisa Fields scored a team high 27 points while
Amely Del Rosario added 20 to give the Lightning an 88-76 victory over CCNY. The victory pushes the Lightning's win streak to six. Lehman improves to 9-7 overall and 7-2 in conference play. CCNY now stands at 7-10:3-6.
The Lightning defensive pressure was able to force 23 turnovers.
Marika Gordon recorded her third double double of the season. The Bronx native scored 12 points while grabbing 13 rebounds.
Ayanna Behagen added 14 points.
Lehman jumped out to a 12-6 lead thanks in part to
Lisa Fields who scored half of the Lightning's 12 points to start the game. Lehman was able to get the lead up to eight before settling on a 25-18 lead at the end of the opening quarter. The Lightning scored the first eight points of the second quarter as four different players' tallied points. Lehman was able to keep the Beavers at bay the rest of the quarter and took a 47-35 lead into the locker room. The Beavers were able to trim the lead down to four at the end of the third quarter. The Beavers continued to crawl back into the game as they were able to cut the deficit to two (72-70) with six and half minutes to play. A 12-2 run by the Lightning over the next five minutes put the game out of reach.
Alexis Akridge paced the Beavers with 28 points and 11 rebounds.
Lehman will return to action on Friday night as they host Brooklyn at 7:00 pm in the APEX.
