Bronx, NY – The Lehman College men's and women's basketball teams will be back in action tonight after a nine day lay-off. The women will travel to New Jersey to face the College of St. Elizabeth at 6 PM in the Eagles home opener. The men will play their home opener against Maritime. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 PM.
The Lightning women take their 1-2 record on the road to Morristown, NJ to face the Eagles in a non-conference tilt. CSE enters tonight's contest with a mark of 1-1 after defeating John Jay (71-39) in the season opener and dropping an 87-39 decision at Manhattanville. The Eagles are led by Deja Ingram and Kamani Williams. The duo accounts for 27 points and 14 rebounds per game.
Lehman soundly defeated NJCU in their opener before dropping a pair of hard fought contests to Gettysburg and Mary Washington. The Lightning currently have three players averaging double figures.
Ayanna Behagen leads the way with a 15.3 points per game average. She is also bring down 5.7 rebounds per game.
Lynda Fields is chipping in 15 points per game and
Aliyah Dorsett is averaging 10.7 points and a team leading 7.7 rebounds per night.

The Lehman men opened the season at the Westfield State Tournament where the Lightning went 1-1, falling to the hosts before earning a quality victory over St. Lawrence. Through the first two games of the season, the trio of
Andrew Utate,
Luis Hernandez and
Mylo Mitchell are all averaging double digits. Utate leads the squad in points and rebounds averaging 21 and 8.5 respectively. Hernandez is chipping in 19.5 points and 5 assists per game. Mitchell averages 17 points per game while shooting .714 from the field.
The Privateers defeated Mitchell College yesterday afternoon 89-84 to move to 2-1. Maritime needed a team effort as five players tallied double figures to propel the Privateers to victory. Michael Walker netted a career high 24 points while Patrick McDonald added 19. Their other victory came at the hands of CUNYAC rival York, 79-69.
