Five Lightning Players Reach Double Figures in Loss to Ramapo

Bronx, NY – Five Lehman College women's basketball players reached double-figures in scoring as a late, second half rally fell just short in a 78-75 loss to Ramapo.  The Lightning are now 5-4 on the season.

Ramapo got the lead to 13 points with 5:08 remaining in the fourth.  In response, Lehman did what they always do, use defense to create offense.  They intensified their full court press the rest of the way and pulled within a possession.  A Lisa Fields three-pointer at 4:52 made the score 68-58, Roadrunners.  Lynda Fields hit a three ball of her own at 2:28 to pull Lehman within nine, 72-63.  A three point play from Selena Lopez with 1:27 left made the score 72-66.  From there, a full court press led to a Maguire steal and Lopez converted it into a basket.  Lehman was down four.  After another steal and Lopez bucket, Lehman trailed 72-70 with 1:05 on the clock.  Both sides traded baskets before Ramapo went up four.  A Lynda Fields three-pointer with 0:14 left made the score 76-75, Ramapo.  Lehman was forced to foul and the Roadrunners hung on for a 78-75 win.
