Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's basketball team jumped out of the gate with an offensive run and never looked back as they defeated CUNYAC foe Medgar Evers, 97-51, Tuesday night as part of Senior Night at the APEX Center.
The Lightning (14-7, 12-2 CUNYAC) have now won four straight games, and have won 10 straight contests in the CUNYAC. Their victory moves them into a tie for second with Brooklyn College in the conference, and only trail Staten Island by a half a game for first.
Before the game, Lehman recognized Senior Night for the team's lone senior

Lehman led the game wire-to-wire, and shot 46.3 % from the field while connecting on 12 three-pointers in the game. They controlled the scoring in the paint, scoring 46 points in the area while dishing out 22 assists in the win. The squad took advantage and pushed the ball ahead, scoring 28 fast break points.
Defensively, they held Medgar Evers to just 27.3 % from the field all game and forced 27 turnovers. The Lightning would convert those mishaps into 22 points as they cruised to the victory.
Up next for Lehman is a crucial conference matchup on the road, when they face first-place Staten Island Friday as part of a doubleheader with the men's team. Tip time is set for 5:00 p.m. at the CSI Sports and Recreation Complex.
